Generally, the interaction with the recruiter was positive. However, the onsite interview was not great at all.
At least two interview rounds involved interviewers who didn't know the correct optimal solution. They essentially raised false doubts about the correctness of my code, forcing me to walk through it using the given example.
In one round, the interviewer was not a developer and didn't understand the performance difference between a list and a hash set. When I correctly used a hash set to achieve O(1) lookup, they asked a questionable why I didn't use the result list for that.
With an interview panel like this, and a hiring manager from India, the interview felt like a waste of time. It was very obvious they would not hire anyone, regardless of their performance, unless they were Indian.
Oracle's hiring process is totally screwed.
