The interview process began with a recruiter screening, followed by a technical screening. This led into a loop of two technical interviews, one system design interview, and one behavioral interview. The entire process took an extended period, spanning a total of four months from start to finish. Furthermore, the process seemed to be passed from one individual to another, with no clear ownership for bringing it to a close. The interviewers were universally rude and indifferent. They refused to answer direct questions regarding company culture and stability. Despite these challenges, I eventually received a verbal offer, and then a written offer a month later.
I made the mistake of quitting my previous job after receiving the verbal offer. This proved to be an error, as Oracle rescinded my offer shortly after I accepted the written offer. The notification of this rescission was not delivered by a person. Instead, I discovered it when the career board platform indicated an urgent message. Upon checking, I found that the offer had been rescinded. No one reached out directly, and emails went unanswered.
This experience suggests that Oracle is a highly problematic company to work for. Their poor reputation for service and product quality appears to extend to their hiring practices as well.
STAR questions, such as how you handle conflict with a teammate, during the behavioral section.
