Senior Software Engineer • Former Employee
Pros: 1. Flexible timings
2. Work-life balance
3. You can take leaves whenever you want, with no restriction on the number of days if you have leaves left.
4. Brand value you will gain; some good companies will call you for sure.
5. Certification will be paid off if your manager is convinced.
6. Managers are really nice and experienced.
7. It's nice to be there if you want to spend time satisfying your salary, especially for women.
8. Only a 1-month notice period.
Cons: 1. Quality of work is not good except for a few teams, so be specific about your questions to your manager before joining. For example, ask which technology you will be working with, what kind of technology stack, whether it's open source or Oracle's internal, what IDE they use, and what version control you'll be using, etc. Don't hesitate; they will answer.
2. No extra pay if you work on weekends, except for food.
3. No free food. Even after paying for it, the food quality is very pathetic. It's better to bring your own food from home.
4. The salary structure makes you pay extra taxes.
5. Not many incentives apart from salary.
6. Only one toilet on each floor with a 3-4 people capacity at a time. Sometimes this causes a long queue during lunchtime.
7. Hikes are good in a few teams, but don't expect too much; 10-12% will be average if you are performing.
8. Switching between organizations is difficult and will cost you your gratuity.
9. Nowadays, layoffs are also common there.
10. Now, it is slowly becoming a myth to have a lot of work-life balance, as teams have a lot of work that employees have to work on weekends.
11. Even if you can leave early by 5 PM every day, expect calls at night between 10 PM and 12 AM at least twice a week because of working together with HQ teams.
My advice to new hires: Don't join if your work will be in ADF. You will encounter a lot of difficulties while trying to switch organizations.
