Process

There were 3 rounds in total.

First was an HR interview, and the last two were technical interviews.

The 2 technical interviews were with Hiring Managers. The interview was half behavioral and half coding.

Questions

Behavioral questions were normal, such as:

  • Why did you decide to choose a Master's in the US and apply for Oracle?
  • Describe a situation where you failed to deliver a project on time.
  • What did you learn from the experience?

One coding question was:

Design a data structure that reads characters one at a time from a stream and supports two operations:

  • add(char c): Adds a character to the stream.
  • printCompressed(): Prints the compressed string, where consecutive characters are compressed using count (e.g., "aaabb" becomes "a3b2").

Both operations should work in O(1) time amortized, especially printCompressed().
