I applied for one position, but the recruiter steered me to a different one where I wasn't as strong. I was assured that I was put in for both positions.
An interview was set up with someone who would have been my subordinate and who had also applied for the job. The interview was straightforward, and I was able to answer all the questions.
I don't know how it's possible for the process to be subjective. I was turned down for the second position and then informed that the first was no longer available.
