Pros: More importantly, the pros and cons differ based on the team inside Oracle.
Each team inside a Global Business Unit (GBU) is autonomous in nature.
Although Oracle has general policies to be followed, each GBU has its own decisions and policies. Oracle acquired more than 100 companies, which include small popular enterprises such as Retek and Logic, and some large tech giants such as Sun Microsystems, PeopleSoft, ATG, and recently NetSuite and LogFire.
So, the reviews posted on Glassdoor won't give you an exact idea of Oracle.
Here are the general pros and cons when considering general Oracle policies.
Pros:
* Flexible work timings (which are based on the teams - if your team starts work at 11 and stays late up to 7, that's 8 hours).
* Motivating team members.
* Good exposure to cloud technologies.
* Opportunity to grow with many internal training tools and expert teams to reach your goals.
* Easy process for transferring from one team to another if you are talented enough and can justify how productive you would be in the desired team.
* Good internship resources.
* If you work hard, you will definitely get a chance to grow inside or outside the team.
Growth meaning: good hikes and promotions if desired.
Cons: Although there is a chance to grow up on your career level, you will stagnate with your financial status. The hikes will be of the same percentage, which is in the single digits, ranging from 4% to 9.8%. You can see yourself as a good domain expert after 3 to 4 years, but you can see your friends on different teams who have reached more steps ahead in financial status. This is because each team has its own decisions for hike policies.
