It's possible to find a job within the company, depending on your type of work, but you may have to accept a pay cut.
Cons: Not much advancement.
Instability (layoffs), usually for acquired companies to bring in cheaper labor.
Lack of direction.
Waste too much time; everything is self-service. Not much local support for HR, IT, etc.
Winter shut down (have to take vacation time).
