Received a call from HR asking if I was available to attend an interview in the Chennai office on Saturday for the Bangalore location. I happily agreed and received the interview call letter.
I went to the Oracle India Chennai office. There were about 6 candidates who had gone to the wrong interview location on the third floor for a PL/SQL developer role. We were about to leave, unsure of what to do or where to go. We then asked the security personnel where the interview was being held. They directed us to the fourth floor.
When we went there, we saw approximately 30-40 candidates attending the interview. There were 6 panelists conducting the interviews.
I submitted my resume to the POC mentioned in the interview call letter and waited for my turn.
Finally, after 40 minutes, my turn came for the first round. There were supposed to be a total of three rounds.
The first round began. The interviewer was very friendly. He introduced himself and asked me to introduce myself. He then gave me a program to write and went to attend to other candidates and have lunch. The program he provided was to return 120 out of 5 zeros. I struggled to figure out the logic for a long time. He then returned and gave me a hint, mentioning "Factorial." Based on this, I wrote the program.
It had become quite late, so he asked me to go for lunch.
Once I returned from lunch, he asked me some basic questions from Core Java. I answered many of them confidently.
After that, I was asked to wait for the second round. I waited for about 2 hours for my turn, as there were many candidates and each interview took around 40 minutes.
In the second round, the interviewer was also very friendly. He asked me to write two programs and asked questions from my resume. I had mentioned PowerMockito, so he focused on that.
After another 1-hour wait, I proceeded to the third round.
In the third round, I was again asked to write a program. I was unable to concentrate or solve it as I was very tired. It was already 6 p.m., so the Manager asked a puzzle. Before I could think of a solution, they informed me that the third round would be a telephonic round.
On Monday, the telephonic round took place and lasted for about 1 hour. It consisted entirely of scenario-based questions.
