Software Engineer Interview Experience - Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico

Process

The selection process is long, approximately one month or more. The first filter involves solving a series of algorithms with a one-hour time limit, using a programming language such as Java, C++, or Python.

Following this, several interviews are conducted: one with HR personnel, and then multiple technical interviews. The entire process is carried out in English.

The only drawback is that you are never told which position you are applying for. You apply for one role, but it turns out you are actually applying for a completely different one. This is very important, as it directly impacts the difficulty of the technical interviews.

Questions

Very theoretical questions about algorithms (quick sort, binary search, Dijkstra, spanning tree, dynamic programming, divide and conquer, greedy, etc.) and data structures (queues, stacks, binary trees, red-black trees, hash tables, etc.).

Questions about algorithm efficiency using Big O notation.

Questions about various technologies such as Java 8 and later, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Hadoop, Cassandra, Oracle and MySQL databases, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis.

In technical interviews, you will be asked to solve one or more problems using the Java programming language. You must be able to solve the problem in 30 minutes or less. Your solution must be efficient, and you must explain its efficiency.
