It was the worst interview of my entire life. I applied online and spoke with an HR woman from Romania. She scheduled my interview meeting in Krakow, Poland.
The meeting was with three people: one female tester, one male tester, and one male manager. The manager arrived 15 minutes into the interview.
For the first 15 minutes, the atmosphere was good, but then it began to deteriorate. She asked me, "What do you know about your interests?" I answered, and she stated, "You lied; you know nothing about it." At this point, I realized I didn't want to work with these people, who clearly lacked culture.
The male tester asked questions about software testing, and as I began to consider my answer, he added, "You should know this; you are certified, so why don't you know it?"
The manager was no better. After the testers left, he gave me his MacBook and said, "You have 10 minutes. You must write code in Java to open a file and parse text." When I finished, she commented, "It's a slow method; there is a faster and better solution." The next question was, "Do you still want 5000zł?"
I will never go there again, and every friend of mine knows about their culture.
What do you know about your interests?
You have 10 minutes. You have to write code in Java to open a file and parse text.
Do you still want 5000zł?
