Pros

Reasonable management. Less work pressure. No onerous annual performance reviews.

Cons

No salary increase at all over many years. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire career.

Top 10% of performers in a department get a 1-2% salary increase; the rest get nothing.

No stock option grants.

No annual discussion with a manager over salary or performance.

Management is deceptive and elusive on salary expectations, while the company and the execs rake in the profits and bonuses.

No opportunity to advance to management.

Age discrimination.

The only way to monetary or professional advancement is to leave the company.

Management is very stingy on group cohesive events, if any are held at all.

Advice to Management

Don't be obscenely greedy, where the execs get everything and the rest get nothing.

It's a wonder why anybody would slave away so that Larry Ellison rakes in more billions; they do it solely for immediate need.

People, especially younger engineers, will leave the company at the soonest opportunity.

Schedule evenly distributed annual salary increases like every other company.
