Salary and benefits were okay. Remote work was possible even before it was a thing, like post-pandemic.
C-level does not care about employees, only shareholders and their own bank accounts. Loyal, hardworking, top-level, top-performance employees get laid off in favor of overseas, low-wage slaves. Work/life balance is a joke. You can work remotely, but then they expect you to be available at all times, especially if your team is global. You work your own timezone hours but then also need to attend meetings, etc. with global teams across the globe. They have no respect for personal lives.
Invest in your employees.
Your products tank when you don't appreciate your own people.
