Pros

Nice gym with free aerobics classes. Flexible work hours, though you usually end up putting in a lot more than 40 hours because of ambitious deadlines. Can telecommute (Oracle picks up the tab for ISP).

Cons

It is not easy to find out who is responsible for what. Documents are not easy to locate and search.

It is not easy to get a hardware upgrade. (My desktop at work is more than 5 years old, with only 80 Gb disk space, a DVD-Rom - not RW - drive, and a clunky CRT monitor).

There is no free lunch.

Advice to Management

Watch out for managers who play favorites. They give choice assignments and promote only their favorites. This can really affect the morale of the group.
