Pros

Nice locations. Good products that are orphaned. Some passionate employees (whoever is left). Great work-life balance. Man, you can fly below the radar and cruise for years. Just be sure you are pleasing your boss with a small win every 4-5 months.

Cons

Biggest shareholder scam in decades. The number of people leaving is not even funny. In some technologies, pretty much everybody who knew anything about the product is gone.

Every day you go to work, they are looking at you and wondering how much money they would save if someone in India, China, or Romania was doing that job.

Quality does not matter; people don't matter. I understand the money part, but it's too short-sighted in my opinion. Sure was glad to get out of that place.

Advice to Management

Don't bite off more than you can chew.

Get your act together.

Just going after cloud and SaaS without a strategy is suicide.

Value employees based on their cost and value add versus just the cost.
