Pros
  • Have good mentors and coworkers.
  • Lots of opportunities for networking and internal transfer.
  • Learn a lot about the technology.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Good CI/CD pipeline and standard development cycle.
  • Was able to internally transfer and get a better base salary.
  • Good benefits and stock.
  • Depending on your team, it could be a hit or miss.
Cons

Remote work gets lonely; there's no communication besides work with coworkers. Pay isn't as competitive as other places. Work/life balance is horrible. Even though there's unlimited PTO, upper management pressures employees to meet endless deadlines. The on-call policy makes me cry. It requires 24/7 availability, with a 15-minute acknowledgement and a 2-hour window to resolve the issue/outage. If you're primary, it's hellish depending on your team. Upper management exerts anger and does not give constructive criticism in both departments I was in. Lots of harassment goes unnoticed since no one wants to bring it up.

Advice to Management

more constructive criticism and do not push and put into 1-1 calls in order to pressure the employee to meet deadlines. Sometimes, it's out of the employee's control, like peer reviews.
