No soul, but a lot of corporate bureaucracy

Pros
  • A lot of good learning sources are available for employees.
Cons
  • All projects I worked on used old technologies. If you are looking to learn how to use some modern tech stacks, forget about this.
  • Salaries (at the moment of writing this review) are below average. When people started to talk about that and pointed out that Oracle's competitors have 30-40% higher payments, Oracle did nothing. Someone got a bit of RSUs as a bonus.
  • No salary adjustment for inflation.
  • In order to get a promotion, you should push yourself very hard. Managers are not willing to give you promotion unless you show some very exclusive achievements.
  • Corporate bureaucracy is everywhere.
  • You want a new mouse, keyboard, or LED display? Well, forget about that. I almost begged my manager for a new mouse.
  • The budget for visiting conferences and workshops is so low that it's barely enough for some paid online event.
  • Maybe not a con for everybody, but the teams I worked in had no interactions with other teams around the world.
