If you are good with being in the middle of the pack, it is probably a pretty good job. You can blend in, have good job security, and not a lot of stress.
If you are a high achiever, you will be frustrated, stressed most of the time, and asked to carry the weight of the team all the time.
Sr. Directors and below have very little control in team building, rewarding, or cleaning house and backfilling.
