I spoke with the CEO of AISense (aka Otter.ai). He asked me a few very high-level general NLP/ML related questions.
After I answered, however, he didn't comment or react with either positive or negative, which made me feel he did not care about the supposedly common interests between his company and me. After that, he asked about my research experience, and I introduced my research and a couple of my sample publications.
And then he asked me what's new in my research, and I patiently reiterated how my research resolved challenges in NLP, although I had just said it before. Finally, he asked me why I would not apply for those big FAANG companies. This question completely killed this interview.
This question he asked showed that he didn't even believe his own company is the best company to attract talent to join. Overall, I guess the company might have a few of "the best minds" claimed in their ad, but definitely excluding the CEO! I feel lucky not continuing with this company.
