The process was very long, involving many technical interviews conducted both in person at different locations and remotely. It sometimes felt more like a hiring farm, as on-site, I met tens of other applicants from all over the world. However, the overall treatment was quite nice. They flew me around and provided hotel accommodations at their expense, kept me updated on the process, and were generally very pleasant and clear.
However, it was always very unclear how many more interviews would follow. I ultimately completed approximately eight interviews, and it was a very long and extensive process. I was tested repeatedly through whiteboard-like interviews and assignments, typical of large tech companies. You are lucky if you happen to have practiced some of these specific problems, have the right interviewer, or are simply good at the clever tricks required for most of these assignments.
I believe the overall process is very subjective, often based on whether candidates have encountered certain specific problems before. It seems complexity-driven rather than focused on day-to-day work, and it doesn't account for people's adaptability to learn and pick things up quickly.
