Forward Deployed Software Engineer Interview Experience

July 1, 2016
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within the same week after solving a HackerRank challenge (medium difficulty).

The recruiter was very helpful and kind, and invited me for a phone interview.

The interviewer was not paying attention to suggestions or potential approaches for the problem. He was busy on his computer and sporadically saying that everything was fine, with a very bad tone.

The question was relatively easy, although the experience was very bad. I would think twice or more before accepting an offer.

It seems like a very desirable place to work for, but certainly the company should train and select their interviewers better.
