Process
The interview was well organized. They made an effort to make you feel comfortable.
The interviewers were nice and to the point. The questions were very complex and open-ended. No wonder about their reputation for having tough interviews in the valley. I might get a reject, but I know I messed up a few basic things.

Pros: Projects are interesting if you manage to get into core backend teams.
Cons: Management is ruthless. They play their favorites, and if you're not one of them, you would be axed for no reason.

Smart Engineers, Weak Management
Software Engineer • Former Employee
Palo Alto, California, United States
August 24, 2014
Pros: The engineers I got to work with were smart, despite most of them being hired straight out of university. It was a great opportunity to learn from quality (though arguably inexperienced) engineers.
Cons: My mentor and team lead were quite ineffective at communication and giving feedback. My experience would have been much better if I had gotten more feedback more often.

Pros: Palantir's products help with life and death decisions on a daily basis. The work is incredibly meaningful.
Cons: This is not a "rest and vest" company--people are expected to contribute significantly.
