The first round was with an outsourced company, Karat. They asked me to talk about my tech experience for a minute, answer three short technical questions, and complete a longer coding challenge. They were very interested in runtime complexities.

Pros: Engineers that are talented both technically and in terms of product intuition, in very difficult and important application areas.
Cons: Working long hours is necessary for job advancement. It is difficult to speak about your technical work publicly, which makes it hard to be part of the broader engineering community.

Pros: - You get lots of responsibility early on, leading to much faster growth straight out of uni.
- Smart, nice people to interact with.
- Interesting problems.
- Comp and benefits.
Cons: Unstructured environment; not a clear career ladder like in most tech companies.
Occasional long hours; work-life balance can differ team to team.
Compensation starts out pretty good for the first few years but levels off afterwards.
