A multi-stage interview process, including several phone and video calls, an on-prem multi-stage interview, and further chats with leads. This was a lengthy process.
All of the initial calls and video interviews were with the US team, despite interviewing for the London branch.

Pros: A startup-like culture in a mid-sized company.
Highly skilled engineers from whom you can learn.
Amazing, developed infrastructure (automated integration testing, fully automated release process, good monitoring tools).
High speed of developing code and pushing code to production.
Fairly good transparency to see how your code is affecting the business.
Cons: - Decreased compensation post-IPO (compared to pre-IPO compensation).
- Leads lacking management skills (although this is improving).
- Slowly trending towards increased corporate bureaucracy as the company is growing, rather than maintaining the startup-like culture.
- On some teams, on-call is hard because of a lack of resourcing.

Pros: A very agile and action-oriented environment. FDEs are encouraged to find a need in the project and develop their own slice of it. Resourcing responds to this by moving you to other projects that can best make use of the spike you've demonstrated in the process.
You can quickly build on Foundry. Tackling technical problems at a high level means you get a huge amount of exposure to different problem spaces.
Cons: It can be a very sink or swim environment.
It's also not as technical as your usual software engineering roles, as you're generally building on top of Foundry, which is already a well-built-out platform.
Depending on your project, you can be frequently working long hours.
