The interview process is currently broken for Bangalore, India hiring.

Initially, I was chosen for a Sr. Fullstack Engineer role. I spent four rounds of interviews for it, taking about a month to complete. The interviews were conducted by Santa Clara team members. According to the recruiter, the feedback was positive for the position. However, after a week, they informed me that they had found someone else who was a better fit for the role.

This was not the end. The recruiter then pushed me for another Sr. Staff Software Engineer role. Again, I gave four rounds of interviews, conducted by the same Santa Clara team members. This also took about a month to complete. After two weeks of waiting, the recruiter provided feedback that they had found someone else who fit the role better.

This amounted to a total waste of eight hours without any proper feedback.

Conclusion: All four "tech rounds" were not interview rounds; they were screening rounds. I was unaware that I was being screened in all four rounds, and it took two weeks to receive the final status.

The interview rounds themselves were good, and the feedback was positive.

It would have been better if they had implemented an elimination round instead of proceeding forward after every round, given how selective they were in picking someone better.

This resulted in two months of wasted effort.
