Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Jose, California

Process

This was the worst interview ever! I have interviewed with many companies before, but I have never met such rude and arrogant interviewers as I did here. They are not trained, not competent, and unprofessional.

They don't know how to conduct an interview. I am a Java programmer and work on web applications, but the interviewer kept asking me kernel questions, even though I told him I had never done system programming before. The director's attitude was so rude; he looked like someone had upset him before he even arrived.

He gave me a poorly defined question and asked me to write code. He didn't even clarify the statement and didn't let me ask questions. Then he said, "I think your previous Java skills are not fit for this C position," without asking any further questions. However, he knew my skill set from my resume before I even came in.

After that, another interviewer came in, and I asked, "Can you explain what you do?" He replied, "Now I am the interviewer asking questions..." I was so surprised by this answer. These people did not even know basic courtesy.

I would never want to join a group with this kind of culture.
