Software Engineer Interview Experience - Santa Clara, California

Process

The usual routine is a 3- to 8-week process. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks in Santa Clara, CA, in April 2017. The company is great, but some people are not.

Questions

The HR process is well-matured, and they know what they are doing.

Often, people say employees leave bosses, not organizations. We need to add one more point: people won't join a boss, even if the organization is great.

I encountered this so-called boss in one of the interview rounds, with a "why should I hire you" attitude. Clearly, the company's success had gone to his head. He's probably a long-timer, but he certainly knows some or many concepts wrongly and then argues.

I told him, "I beg to differ, and you can check. I know for sure he's not open to learning and doesn't want to check either." I knew for sure he wouldn't recommend me for the next round, and exactly the same thing happened.

I wouldn't have joined him either.
