Software Engineer Interview Experience - Santa Clara, California

Process

I completed a project at home for 4 hours, which I passed. Then, I had 4 hours of onsite programming, which I also passed. Following that, I had a face-to-face interview with 4-5 people. Each interview lasted 45 minutes.

Unfortunately, I ultimately failed with one interviewer. He struggled to understand bit operations. I spent a significant amount of time explaining what n & (n-1) does and how using this with a loop can count the number of set bits (1s) in an integer. I felt the interviewer was not well-prepared and I would not want to work with someone of his caliber.
