Standard Recruiter Screen Phone Technical: A very strange "technical" interview, which was a meeting with two engineers. The exercise was pure styling. They explicitly told me not to think about interaction and instead gave me a mockup to try and create pixel-perfect. I literally wrote no JavaScript code and just used HTML and CSS. They had a weird styling implementation using React present as part of a typography component, but since I wasn't used to it and didn't want to waste time figuring it out, I asked if I could just do raw CSS, which they agreed to but clearly penalized me on since I finished with the mockup ninety-five percent complete and still failed me after the interview.
Materials describe an in-person full interview round after the technical.
I was given a few images of a single page to try and create pixel-perfect using basic HTML and CSS. The mockups included some numbers like pixels of margin from the top and font-weights.
