Pros

I can't think of any right now.

Cons

Micromanagement at Paycom is pervasive and extreme. The company relies on employee monitoring software to track metrics such as mouse clicks and words typed per day, claiming these measure productivity.

However, these metrics are often used against employees without explanation, and many—such as the number of mouse clicks—seem arbitrary and irrelevant to actual performance.

If you leave even five minutes early, you're likely to be confronted. The work environment is dominated by unrealistic deadlines, forcing employees to work long evenings and weekends. As a result, work-life balance is effectively nonexistent.

Paycom is rigidly opposed to remote work. You have to ask permission from HR for any remote work, and it seems they deny every request. They have no flexibility at all when it comes to remote work.

For the past few months, there have been mass firings, with entire departments, like DEI, dismantled. This high turnover leaves employees constantly onboarding new colleagues who are unfamiliar with the systems. It really just feels like 90% of my job is babysitting QAs.

The recruitment process can only be described as predatory. They prey on new graduates, especially those who were former interns, since the interns aren't limited to Paycom's outdated technology, giving the false impression that Paycom uses the latest technologies. Moreover, they'll tell you anything to get you to sign on and renege on all of their promises. Employee training is outdated or even absent in some cases.

It seems like every decision Paycom makes is regressive. Everyone is afraid of being fired in a tough job market, and nobody is willing to stand up to Chad and his cronies. I literally think of quitting every single day, and I'm at a point where I don't even care if they fire me. In fact, I'd welcome it if it means I can get away from this nightmare company.

Of course, Paycom will deny all of this, as they deny every other allegation against them. You'll see some generic response that merely ignores and/or contradicts your "described" experience.

Advice to Management

They refuse to listen to reason and don't care about employee well-being, so nothing I say will make a difference. I can only warn potential employees of the risks.
