Data Engineer Interview Experience

Process

This was the most unprofessional interview I have ever experienced. It began with a phone call round with one of the team members, followed by an on-site interview.

There were four rounds during the on-site interview.

  • The majority of the questions focused on my previous experience.
  • This was followed by a few coding questions.
  • Then came a design question.
  • Finally, there was a puzzle.

The coding and design portions were quite easy. However, the interviewers rarely listened to my answers. They would start looking at me as if I were begging for a job. If I attempted to elaborate on an answer, they would interrupt by saying, "Let's go to the next question."

They didn't engage in a conversation and didn't offer mutual respect.

I was extremely disappointed by the way they interviewed me. Despite answering every question, I received a rejection with a nonsensical reason: that I didn't work in their "style of environment."

It's unfortunate that a company founded by a genius treats interviewees in such a manner.
