I recently had interview rounds with PayPal.
First, the recruiter was in a hurry to set up a call with the hiring manager. They did not even bother to share the job description. Fortunately, the discussion with the hiring manager went well. They gave an overview of the requirements and the product roadmap, and discussed my experience in detail. There were also a couple of technical process discussions. Overall, it was a good experience talking to the hiring manager. I received feedback that I had cleared this round.
I got a call the very next day from the recruiter to set up another discussion. This round was with a project manager. I do not recall a technical deep dive, discussions about tech frameworks, or design strategies. However, I felt they were looking for someone specific from the payment domain and didn't seem very interested. I knew it wasn't going in the right direction.
I usually do not post interview reviews on Glassdoor, but I could not stop myself this time as I was unhappy with how the interviews were planned. I request the PayPal Bangalore recruiting team to please have the right set of people on the panel, screen resumes thoroughly, and let candidates go through a proper interview process. Please do not share unrelated feedback that the candidate did not experience during the interview. For example, if you don't appear for system designing rounds, receiving feedback that you are not good at designing doesn't make sense. Let's respect each other's time.
Overview of the project I am working on.
