I really liked the first round. The interviewer was so pleasant and made the interview experience very enjoyable. She even connected on LinkedIn to answer any questions.
Feedback to the recruiter: She was very responsive to phone calls, but she wasn't proactive in sharing results. Every time, I had to call her for an update. She explicitly mentioned that she would be busy with meetings, so she asked me to call for updates, as if we professionals don't have other meetings in our offices.
Then came the shocker: this was a coding round. The interviewer had a bossy attitude. He turned off his video while asking me to keep mine on, as if I would copy-paste code from Google.
He asked me for introductions but didn't offer his own. So, I stopped him to request an introduction before proceeding.
I had the solution within 5 minutes and wrote the code as well. I told him I didn't know the syntax and wanted to search Google, but he didn't let me. Suddenly, he asked, "What if we change the input format from string to int?" I was totally frustrated by then with this guy. He wasn't talking or involving himself in the discussion during the interview, which made it even more cumbersome, especially with the video call and his video being turned off.
I shared this feedback with the recruiter right after the interview. Finally, after several phone calls, I received a 50-50 result, and she said she wanted to discuss with the hiring manager to see how to proceed further.
Then, I told them I also didn't like the interview, so please do not proceed further with my profile.
