Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

Process

Worst interview experience. The interview lasted only 15 minutes.

The interview was conducted over the phone. Initially, the interviewer asked me some questions about my projects. Then, they started asking about memorized answers, such as "What is new in Java 1.7?" and "What is the difference between Java 1.6 and Java 1.7?" I found their questions quite amusing.

After that, the interviewer stated that I lacked experience in Java multi-threading and then abruptly ended the call. I was taken aback. They had initially mentioned having my resume on screen. If you could see from my resume that I didn't have that specific experience, why did you call me in the first place? I don't believe one needs exceptional skills to work on Java multi-threading.

Thank goodness I wasn't selected. I do not wish to be part of a company where they conduct skill match tests even during the interview process.
