The first round was a telephonic interview and a coding round. Basic problems in arrays and data structures were asked, along with time complexity.

The interviewer also got an overview of the current role, tech stack, etc. The interviewer was positive about the feedback and said there would be a couple of other rounds. He expressed hope that I would meet him in the upcoming rounds. I was positive about the whole process and was awaiting HR's response.

It had been one week since the first round, and I reached out to HR. HR said she had never received feedback and would get back to me. Another 10 days went by with no updates. I reached out again, and within the next 10 minutes, I received a rejection email, without any feedback. This was very strange!

I proceeded to ask for feedback since I was positive about the results, but HR never responded.

Experience round 2 with PayPal:

HR sent a HackerRank link for a test. After trying out the test environment, I started the actual test and realized there were no languages listed except Java in the actual original test environment. Upon reaching out to HR, he said this had happened before and he would come back after fixing it. He never did, and I never received any response.

The entire hiring process could be more professional. This experience has created a negative mindset, and I will think twice or thrice before accepting an interview with PayPal in the future.

1. Retrieve an element from an array. Time complexity.

2. Find the kth largest element & complexities. Alternate implementation using a priority queue.
