This was the first round of the interview. I was told it would be a technical+behavioral round, but it was completely technical. There was not even an "introduce yourself" question. We started coding in CollabEdit right away. The interview went on for 45 minutes.
However, the interviewer didn't know what project or team I was being hired for, even though I knew. PayPal had sent me the job description and details about the project I would be working on if selected, so I could prepare better. But the interviewer had no clue about it.
When I asked specific questions about the project, the interviewer told me straight away that they didn't know anything about the project or the team the position was for. They mentioned they were just asked to conduct the interview based on the candidate profile sent to them.
If they had known about the project, the process would have been even better, as my profile and projects matched exactly what they were looking for. I don't know whether I will be selected for the next round or not. I am waiting for the results.
