I met PayPal at a career fair, and they called me within two weeks of our initial meeting.
An HR representative contacted me with one job description. I responded that I would be glad to discuss that one, as well as two others on the company website that also sounded interesting.
HR then contacted me about one of the two jobs I named and dropped all interest in the first position. I had a phone screening and came in to take a technical test and interview (with the hiring manager and a team member).
This was followed by a phone interview with the manager of the hiring manager, who had been unable to meet me the day I was in the office.
That day, I received an offer for half what my last job paid. I was told it was non-negotiable and that I had one day to decide.
Everyone was fabulous; I just wasn't willing to work for that money.
