Pros
  • Great benefits
  • Great CEO (Dan Schulman) and CTO (Bill Ready)
  • Encouraging physical environment
  • Uses the best technology tools
  • Non-senior developers are the best (Don't go to seniors for questions; they have attitude)
Cons
  • Micromanagement.
  • Standups are more than 30 minutes, going to an hour or so.
  • No multiculturalism.
  • Higher or executive management doesn't care under the hood when employees are stressing out with micromanagement from these bad managers.
  • Code complexity is added by senior guys. They only know it and they are busy. On top of that, they show off that they are the best brains when you go to them. The first thing to eradicate or reduce is for the manager to stop going to them for everything.
Advice to Management

Specifically, hire non-Indians to maintain the balance. There's nothing wrong with the Indian community; they are great. However, they come here on H1B visas, and the whole team is like that. Managers take advantage of it. If there were locals, it would be a good balance for the team and the product's prosperity.

Train 1st and 2nd managers on how to manage and not to micromanage.
