Process very quick, none of the usual HR first-round screening questions, which was welcome. All interviewers very nice.
1st round: short chat with hiring manager.
2nd round: coding with team member. This was a simple bash exercise, few questions about k8s troubleshooting and database performance and scaling. I needed some prompting with the bash. It was just a combination of interview nerves, first interview in 4 years, and forgetting my regex. I suspect why I was rejected, but it makes no sense to test this to determine if I'll have any real-world practical problem-solving skills, IMO. Their loss.
Past experience parsing text with bash, some K8s troubleshooting, scaling databases, etc.
