Perplexity and the team building the product are an amazing group. There's a great deal of support from management and the team. And, like any startup, there are quick pivots, but being surrounded by a supportive, smart team makes the pivots easier and the work more fun.
I don't have any cons about the company. Based on my experience, Perplexity could teach a master class on onboarding remote workers and building teams.
Process very quick, none of the usual HR first-round screening questions, which was welcome. All interviewers very nice. 1st round: short chat with hiring manager. 2nd round: coding with team member. This was a simple bash exercise, few questions a
LeetCode-style question which adds on after you finish eventual parts. The question was to implement a to-do list, requiring state changes and dependency cycles. They also have predefined tests for each of the parts.
First HR Screening: Some questions about you. Then Tech Screening with technical and basic technical questions. They will explain what they do. Online Interview Day. It should contain different sections.
