The first round was Data Structures and Algorithms, which went well. I was asked two medium-level LeetCode questions. Although I was applying for an iOS position, I used Java to write the code.

The next round was iOS, which didn't go as well. The interviewer came prepared with questions on a particular topic and continued to ask questions solely from that area. I answered to the best of my ability, but I didn't clear this round. It seemed the interviewer was looking for a specific answer. Despite this, the interview experience itself was fine in my opinion.

What was not good is that this company ghosts interviewees if they don't clear a round, even after multiple requests for feedback. I had higher expectations from PhonePe; at least they could inform candidates about rejections. It is bad enough that many startups ghost candidates they reject, but PhonePe could have been an industry leader in this regard and demonstrated how interviews should be conducted for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this company.
