I interviewed at PhonePe in April 2021. The total process took 28 days, from the time I received the call from HR until the end. I had a total of 4 rounds of interviews, all conducted on Google Meet. The interviewers in the first three rounds were really good, but the last one was not pleasant. He really didn't know what to ask in the Hiring Manager round.

All rounds were eliminators. After clearing three technical rounds, the final round was the Hiring Manager Round. This round was a very negative experience. The interviewer asked very basic questions, such as:

• Given a particular task, what would be your effort estimation?
• Given a task, divide it into subtasks.

They then informed me that they were not moving forward with my profile.

Round 1

• Design a cab management system to book cabs between cities only (LLD, Code implementation)

Round 2

• Given N sorted subarrays, create a final big sorted array from them.
• Find the amount of water filled between buildings (building heights are given in an array).
• Detect a cycle in a graph and mark all visited nodes.

Round 3

• System Design: Design a Swiggy-like application that guarantees 30-minute delivery.

Round 4

• Reason for job change?
• Reason for job change from all previous companies?
• What do you know about PhonePe?
• You will be given a task and have to divide it into subtasks, providing an estimation for each.
• Discussion about your projects?
• What would you do if your database write fails?
• What would you do if your API is called millions of times per second?
• Tell me one instance where you found a bad design in the code and refactored it correctly.
• How did you handle user authentication in your system?
• Tell me the classes that exist in your project and how they interact with each other.
• What do you expect from your new job? Why will this be your ideal job?
