Received a coding assessment not long after submitting the application (4 problems; not too difficult).
The next round was a technical interview.
The final round consisted of 2 technical interviews and a project walkthrough with a manager. Not long after that was a quick behavioral interview with another manager.
Everyone was pleasant and professional.

Pros: - Very grateful for the apprenticeship and opportunity.
- When I was there, it was chill, way too chill. It felt like the sort of company that people go to coast, specifically from companies like Amazon and Microsoft.
Cons: Doesn't feel like anyone really cares about what they are doing.
The company still makes money, but it baffles me how they do it. There were two rounds of layoffs while I was there.
My mentor clearly didn't know what she was signing up for. I'm pretty sure she just signed up for the mentorship to launch herself into an engineer manager role.
Woke company.

Good work/life balance, competitive pay and benefits. Everyone seems genuinely happy and enjoys their job.

Pros: Incredible company culture focused on creativity and kindness. My team trusted me with impactful projects that reached millions of users, and mentorship was outstanding. I got to contribute to both UI and backend work while learning best practices from experienced engineers. The environment truly encourages learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Cons: Onboarding for some internal tools can be confusing at first. Because Pinterest uses a large monorepo and custom frameworks, it takes time to ramp up. Additionally, since it’s a hybrid environment, you might miss some in-person bonding if you’re not based near HQ.
