The interview process was highly disrespectful of the candidate's time. Multiple interviewers did not come prepared, were late, or did not show up at all.

The interview consisted of:

• A recruiter phone screening (non-technical)
• A coding interview on CoderPad, comparable to a LeetCode medium problem
• Four interviews as part of an interview panel (details cannot be disclosed due to an NDA).

A few of the issues encountered:

• Both interviewers for the first two stages had less than proficient English, struggling to understand clarifying questions. This did not occur with any other interviewers at Pinterest or any other company.

1. One interviewer was about to start a coding interview until it was pointed out that it was supposed to be a different type of interview. This interviewer appeared surprised and confused, proceeding to present a seemingly random problem and ask unclear questions throughout the session, lacking a clear plan.

2. Another interviewer failed to show up at the scheduled time. After contacting the recruiter, it was explained that there were technical issues with their laptop. The interview was rescheduled. During the rescheduled interview, the interviewer did not acknowledge their lateness on the initial date, suggesting they may have forgotten or overslept. After brief introductions, a problem with an unmanageably large scope was presented, far exceeding what could be solved in a typical interview. The candidate was informed that a full solution was expected, not a partial one, despite only having 30 minutes remaining in an interview expected to last at least 1.5 hours.

3. Throughout the process, the recruiter was generally responsive. However, this changed when the candidate mentioned having other offers and appreciated a prompt decision after the interviews. The recruiter stated they would do their best to provide an update ASAP. Following the conclusion of the interviews, the candidate received an out-of-office message when inquiring about the decision. Upon the recruiter's return, the candidate had to reach out again to receive the rejection.

After this experience, the candidate requested more detailed constructive feedback, having invested over five hours in the interview process. The feedback received consisted of non-answers or no response at all. The candidate ultimately gave up on seeking further information.
