I received an email from HR after applying for the job to schedule my first interview. This interview was a phone interview, conducted with browser-based screen sharing on a PC.

When I received the phone call, I noticed the interviewer had a heavy accent. However, I was able to understand what they were saying after paying close attention. I did have to ask them to repeat one question because I did not understand a few words, and they were fine with that.

The interview lasted for 40 minutes, although it was scheduled for one hour. I received a rejection email the next day.

1. Please tell me about your background and your work at our current company.

2. On a shared browser-based notepad editor, write a Unix command to get the filenames of files from a directory or subdirectory that contain email addresses.

3. Write a program in your favorite programming language that counts the words from a given file and displays the count. Also, write down the test cases for it or different test scenarios.
