Good perks like free meals (if you like Chinese food) and fast-paced product development.
Very political. There is a small group of people that executives trust and have frequent small side chats with. Your performance review is just a process that no one cares about. All that matters is in the small chats within the small group. If someone talks badly about you, you are screwed. It creates a political and lack-of-transparency working environment.
They lay off 5-10% every 6 months. Some people got fired at their first 6 months. The managers just get rid of people totally based on whether they like them personally.
The work-life balance is terrible. They expect people to work at nighttime and weekends on a regular basis.
Respect and appreciate your employees. They take a lot of risk to join a startup.
It is a pretty standard one, including: * One-hour technical phone call interview * Four-hour virtual onsite It is mostly about your coding skills. The whole process moves fast.
Got one phone interview and a 4-round video interview. Some of the rounds were pretty good, but one of the interviewers was really rude and showed no respect to the candidates. I regret not reporting it to HR after the interview.
Phone screen: Interviewer was 20 minutes late. We had a discussion of past work and I was then asked to code Quicksort. Onsite: A week later, I was asked to come onsite. Standard 5 interviews (4 technical whiteboarding + 1 HR). It is very CS/codi
