First round with HR, all general HR stuff. He asked me a couple of generic questions and showed interest in my education and profile.

Next round was with the hiring manager over the phone. The process was scheduled for 30 minutes, but it went up to 50 minutes. The hiring manager showed a lot of interest in my present job and my academics. She also talked with me about the next steps in detail.

After that, there were 3 months with no news from the company. A couple of times, I had reached out to HR asking for the interview status. Only the same answer was received: no decision had been made. After my third follow-up email, I got a single live response stating that they found another candidate.
