Contacted by a Pure Storage corporate recruiter for an engineering manager position. Subsequently, I had a phone screening with the hiring manager, followed by two onsite interviews: one technical round and one behavior/culture/management round.
The corporate recruiter was energetic, cheerful, responsive, and meticulous. All appointments, whether phone calls or onsites, were arranged and confirmed with timely follow-ups. Emails received prompt replies. Phone conversations and face-to-face discussions with the recruiter were consistently pleasant, and I never felt pressured.
The hiring manager was very smart, as evident from how he opened and organized the discussion, and from his ability and willingness to explain topics candidly and with lucidity.
The onsite rounds were also great. Managers and engineers who conducted the interviews were courteous and professional, offering ample hints when solving technical questions. It appears they are all trained in conducting effective interviews and in making candidates feel comfortable and stress-free.
The company went the extra mile to accommodate my schedule and needs. The hiring manager arranged an engineer for additional phone calls to answer my questions, a sort of reverse interview, which I greatly appreciated. The company expedited the offer process given my need to decide on another offer.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. One can feel that Pure Storage is a great company and that the company treats candidates with high respect.
