Process

I received an email requesting a phone screen soon after applying online. Since this was a new position in Ireland (Pure is not yet present in Ireland at this point in time), the process was postponed a couple of times and took about two months to complete.

Interviewers (via Skype, Pure's personnel located in Utah):

  • HR personnel (phone screen, CV, skills);
  • Hiring Manager (why Pure, why Ireland, etc.);
  • Technical Support's Manager (technical interview);
  • Country's Sales Representative (language skills, technical questions);
  • Directors of Support (customer care, troubleshooting approach, and technical questions).

The company scheduled the interviews according to my availability and always kept me updated regarding the entire process.

Questions

Apart from the classical questions related to your CV and skills, other technical questions may focus on:

  • Fibre Channel and iSCSI
  • Knowledge of the company's goals and product characteristics
  • Troubleshooting scenarios
  • Host-side troubleshooting related to storage (DB, VMware, Windows, etc.)
  • How to deal with sensitive customers
  • Provide an example of a difficult case you had to handle.
