I received an email from an HR representative at Qualcomm regarding a phone interview for the Embedded Software Engineer position.
The interview took place a week later. Overall, it was an interesting experience, especially considering I did not have a background in embedded systems.
The interview consisted of two parts: embedded systems and software.
I performed acceptably in both sections, but I faltered when it mattered most.
I was given a program in C and asked to figure out how it works. It required in-depth analysis and was mainly based on pointers.
I did answer correctly about its working, but I failed to answer when asked how the program related to embedded systems. In hindsight, it seems simple, but I guess it's all in the moment.
