Process

The interview featured difficult logic problems with very short time constraints. I encountered this type of question from three out of five interviewers.

One interviewer could not be found and arrived about 20 minutes late. She was very unfriendly, and I am certain my interview was an inconvenience for her.

During the final interview, the boss asked me to invent interview questions, write them down, and then write down my answers. When I asked him what he liked best about his job, his response was that it is "very boring." At that point, I no longer wanted the job.

Questions

Find optimizations to simplify the implementation of a FIR filter followed by a by-four decimation.

Design a circuit to collect the four largest values from a time sequence (i.e., monitor a bus and grab four largest values). Use only four comparators. You have 10 minutes.
